Can SIGN LANGUAGE help my hearing child SPEAK?

'Baby sign' offers a bridge of communication and stimulates early speech.  The signs are simplified from American Sign Language and allow children to communicate and meet their needs with those around them before they begin to speak.  Using signs with your baby can help behavior problems, or stop them before they start.  Your child can begin to sign before their motor skills are ready to speak!

SENSORY INTEGRATION?

SENSORY PROCESSING?

Sensory processing is the sight, sound, touch, taste, and smell we take in from our environment around us.  Children with sensory processing difficulties are particular about what they sense (or take in) from their world; they can be over-sensitive or under-sensitive to certain sights, sounds, textures, flavors, smells and other sensory inputs.  This happens because their brain has trouble organizing information from their senses.  Teaching self-regulation techniques (links below) will help your child be more comfortable in their sensory environment and ready to learn!
